The Geeky Meme

Yep! It's meme time again and this time, I'm doing Berry's Geeky Meme. I absolutely loved everything at Geeks N Nerds so I figured while I was showing off some of the goodies you can pick up there, I'd let you know just how geeky I really am. This embossed top from Ison is wonderful. It comes with a hud so you can mix and match out the shirttails and I absolutely love these bowtie heels from fri.day. Although I'm wearing basic black, they come in a variety of colors and also feature a hud to change the bow color. Finally, my awesome pose props are from Nani poses. I love books so much that I just had to show them off. I mean who doesn't like reading right? If you haven't been to Geeks N Nerds, there is still plenty of time so hurry hurry hurry over!

1. What do you consider yourself to be? Geek? Nerd? Dork? None of the above? All of the above? I believe I'm all of the above. I love video games, technology, gaining knowledge, and I'm socially awkward. I don't feel that I'm strongly any of the three because I know there are people out there who fit these categories better than me but I do feel I possess qualities from all of them.
2. What was the first computer you ever owned? I really don't remember! I know it was a desktop though and I bought it when I was around 18. I hate desktops now though and will forever own a laptop.
3. When and how did you first get on the internet? With Comcast at the same time that I got my computer. 
4. Which geek fandom do you subscribe to? I'm very big on trivia. I love any kind of trivia game I can play and am a vast source of useless facts. I'm also heavily into SL obviously and I used to love playing Magic the Gathering but no one where I live currently plays.
5. Star Trek or Star Wars? Neither. I'm not a fan. Sorry!
6. How Geeky Am I? I got a 72%. I don't think this quiz measures geekdom accurately though.

Introspection Meme

1. Regardless of your current number, how old do you actually feel? I feel around my age. My life is basically where I want it to be. I'm almost 33 so I feel like I'm finally enjoying my career but that I'm still young enough to do anything that I dream of doing.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying? Never trying. I hate going through life wondering what if so I try and if I fail, then at least I know I tried.
3. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently? I would spend more time enjoying the little things life offers.
4. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? Hmm, I think doing the right thing is doing things right so I don't have to choose a response to this....or maybe I just did. :D
5. Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton? A worried genius. I love learning and the knowledge you gain by doing so. I already worry about a lot of things and am able to cope well so I'm not "worried" about it.
6. Have you been the kind of friend you want as a friend? Yes. I'm undoubtedly loyal to my friends and will support and defend them in their times of need. I am not perfect but I believe I'm an awesome friend to have.
7. Do you remember that time 5 years ago when you were extremely upset? Does it really matter now? Well, it was more like 7 years ago and yes, it still does matter to me. Things weren't handled properly and they do impact my life as well as the life of someone I love very dearly.
8. At what time in your recent past have you felt most passionate and alive? I feel the most passionate when I'm working. As a registered nurse, you learn to appreciate the little things in life when you see the things your patients struggle to do daily. I thank God often that I'm fortunate to have my health.
9. If you just won a million dollars, would you quit your job? No, but I'd probably take off for a year and travel a little.
10. If you knew that everyone you know was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today? I'd spend the day with my family and friends doing something fun.
11. What do you feel is the difference between being alive and truly living? Being alive is just going through life doing everyday things. Truly living is seeking out those moments that thrill and exhilarate you.
12. If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make a mistake? I guess it's because mistakes are discouraging and can hurt us or others. I am not usually afraid of making a mistake because I know that everyone makes them and that we do learn from them. 
13. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you? Be more social. I'm very insecure in RL and because of it, I've shut myself off from a lot of people. If I didn't feel I was being judged, I'd probably get out there more and interact with others.
14. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? Life live to the fullest and never let anyone make you feel second rate.

Avatar Look Alikes Challenge

Those of you on Plurk today probably did this meme of Berry's and had a laugh over your results. I did it with a couple of my SL pics and my RL pic. I was happy with the RL one telling me I looked like Tiffani Thiessan and Katie Holmes even though I don't think I look like either of them but the first SL picture I used told me my avatar resembled a bunch of ugly men so I pouted for a bit.

I saw this pose by Kuro in Motion with a customizeable sign and wanted to take a picture for someone special in my life so after I was done doing so, I decided to try again with my new picture. I'm happier with these choices for my SL avatar's celebrity look alike even if I think it's just dependent on the hair.

Lean On Me

Today I'm going to take the time to do one of Berry's memes from almost two weeks ago where I get to blog about one of my closest SL friends. I know I'm super late with this meme but my one of my closest friends on SL lives in Australia so due to time zone issues and me always crashing, it's very hard to get him to pose pretty for me. Lucky for me, I had off today so I got to hang out with him for a longer period of time than usual so without futher ado, let me introduce my boy bestie, Xplozive.

I met Xplozive a year or so ago at an exhibitionism and voyeur sim. (Yes, Kissy was up to no good!) I noticed him instantly because his pixels looked good compared to most men that visit those types of sims but he looked to be in conversation with this fish face chick with the IPR going down so I left him be. Obviously, I caught his eye too because it wasn't very long before he ditched the other chick and IM'd me. We instantly clicked over a mutual love of trolling and fashion and spent the next two hours just talking about random stuff.

As our friendship progressed, I found that he's one of the few men on SL that actually seem to care about what I have to say without trying to get into my pixel panties. He's also always been honest with me and sweet to me. Combine that with the ability to make me laugh and the fact that he always is up for trouble, and we quickly became close friends. I can honestly say that besides Kimbra, he is the person I talk to the most on SL and hands down, one of my favorite people online. It's funny how SL can allow you to build friendships from all over the world. If it weren't for SL, I'd have never met this amazing man so I'm grateful we crossed paths in this virtual world. He's someone I've leaned on greatly these past few months and I'm very lucky to have met him that night. Thanks for being a wonderful friend Xp!

It's a Glam Affair Intriguing Questions Meme

As most of you all know, I'm a huge fan of Glam Affair. I think that every skin Aida puts out is flawless and I drool over most of her pics. The Liaison Collaborative opened today and Glam Affair released the Katya skin in 6 pretty makeups. I had to run right over and grab one. While playing with my new Tram hair from Hair Fair, I realized I had a pretty blonde shade so I decided to do some experimenting and made myself a cool blonde. I rarely go blonde but I do like this skin/hair combination so maybe blonde is in the future more for me. I liked the look so much that I had to snap a pic and use Aida's photo editing as inspiration for my vanity shot.

And since it's Monday, I am also using this post to do Berry's Intriguing Question Meme. I love Berry's memes because they give all of us participants the opportunity to open up a little more to our readers. 1. How do you deal with criticism? Oh, I hate hate hate criticism and I'll be the first to admit that I don't take it happily. I get irritated and annoyed by anyone who offers me criticism. I know that it's a negative personality trait of mine but I can't help who I am. I do try not to get snippy when someone offers me unsolicited advice and after the initial irritation wears off, I'll try to consider their opinion or viewpoint and sometimes I'll even admit the person offering the criticism was right.

2. What’s the most infuriating thing other SL residents do? There are too many for me to list and I'm kind of dealing with the aftermaths of one of these things right now so I really don't want to talk much about the answers to this question.

3. Which SL resident would you most like to have lunch with and why? My partner, Carter! Someone please fly me to England so I can have lunch with him. I'll love you very much! I don't think I need to give reasons why. They are kind of obvious but I'll give them anyway! We have amazing chemistry and the ability to talk for hours plus he's super sweet and witty. I know that this chemistry would be even greater if we were face to face. Plus, I'd give anything to be able to wrap my arms around him and give him a big hug.

4. Who would you say is your “anti” role model? Someone who serves as a warning rather than an inspiration? Ahh, I'd love to give names but I won't. Liars, users, people who play the victim, fake friends who will backstab or insult you the minute they can, slutty girls who need to have a SL man, egomaniacs...need I go on?

5. What was something you used to enjoy, but was ruined for you? SL related? Nothing really. Everything remains the same. I don't think anything's been ruined for me but I have grown tired of some things.

6. What’s something you want to do that you’d be embarrassed to tell other people about? Umm, I silently stalk my SL friend's profiles every few days to make sure I haven't missed anything important going on in their lives that they may have added to their profile.

7. What’s the oddest term of endearment you’ve ever used or that someone’s used for you? Lol! I'm sure that I've forgotten some of them but I do recall someone calling me their "pocket princess" last week! *sticks my tongue out at this person in case they are reading this*

8. Have you ever fallen in love with another SL resident? Yes and I'm still in love with him :)

9. Describe a time/event in your slife that you’re nostalgic for. Me and my closest gf on SL, Kimbra, used to go trolling at sex sims a lot last year. We used to die laughing at the lame pickup attempts the guys that used to frequent these places would throw at us and would paste our crazy answers to them back and forth to each other. They were fun times and I miss them but RL changes things so we don't have as much time to hang out together.

10. What’s something sweet you’d like someone to do for you? Just be honest with me and talk to me. Keeping it real with me is the sweetest thing you can do for me.

Browsing Plurk this afternoon, I came across Nieve Thor's Musical Meme and since music is a huge part of my life, I decided to give it a go. 1. What is the last musical video clip you watched? (either tv or youtube): Safe and Sound by Capital Cities

2. What is the last song you hear on your radio/ipod? (non-video): I don't remember! Don't hate me! It was on my way home from work last night at 6AM!

3. What is the last song you sing along on top of your lung?: Longview by Green Day...I sing everything I love that comes on the radio but I kind of had a drum solo with this one too yesterday...*looks embarrassed* while stuck in traffic on the expressway.

4. What is the one song you must listen everyday?: I don't have any I have to listen to everyday. I have favorites but I don't die from lack of listening.

5. What is/are the main song(s) that make you want to skip the playlist or change the station?: When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars, As Long As You Love Me by Justin Bieber, Beautiful by Mariah Carey, Mirrors by Justin Timberlake, oh God there are so many!

6. Song that reflects your life: Don't Let Me Get Me by Pink

7.  Song that stuck in you head (doesn’t matter you love or hate): Heart Attack by Demi Lovato because it's my daughter's current favorite song. 

8. Song that you wish someone special (especially the singers themselves) serenaded only you with: Rhythm In My Soul by Jonny Craig because it's me and Carter's song and honestly if I was getting serenaded by the singer, Carter'd have to be there so he could fanboy Jonny.

9. Song that makes you wish it is written for you: :D I've had songs written for me. I'm a lucky girl. 

10. Song that always make you cry: Angel by Sarah McLachlan. They play it for the abused animals commercial here and it makes me bawl every time I hear it. Another one that makes me cry always is The Christmas Shoes by Newsong. Just listen to the lyrics and if you don't cry, you're a heartless person! Also, My Wish by Rascal Flatts is special to me and makes me tear up because it makes me think of my daughter.

Weird Question Meme

Hi all! It's time for another little meme brought to you by Berry. This time she's got us answering weird questions about ourselves. Since I like to talk, I just had to participate. I'm also using this blog post to show off some items from Summerfest. I fell in love with this playable ukulele that Balaclava has out for the event. 1. Which was the last sim you visited? (Other than your home) Baja Norte to take this pic

2. Does your avatar look like the real you? Nope but I wish she did! I try to maintain some curves with Kis though because I'm not thin in RL and I feel awkward being so in SL. 

3. Do you wear underwear/panties underneath your clothing when out and about on the grid? Nope, I usually forget and I've been told about it dozens of times! *sticks my tongue out at my besties*

4. If you won a million linden dollars, what would be the first thing you buy inworld? Hmm, probably presents for all my besties. I like giving presents! I'd then pay my land for a year and cash the rest out.

5. Have you ever bought something in SL and then realized afterwards that you had already owned it from before? Nope. I know what I like and have a pretty decent memory so I am able to keep track of what I've purchased.

6. Have you ever done anything in Second Life that would be considered illegal in real life? Yep. I've done everything from escort to breaking and entering to being a public menace to shooting people during urban RP. 

7. If you could go out on a date with any other avatar, who would it be? My heart, Carter. 

8. Who, in your opinion, was the greatest avatar to ever slive?  Myself! Just kidding!! Everyone has an amazing avatar and it's wonderful to see the many ways people in SL represent themselves. 

9. What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done inworld? Hmm sooo many, responded in the wrong window, pasted chat convos to the wrong person, tp'd somewhere naked, logged in on my ex and the girl he was playing at the same time as me cuddling on his couch. SL is full of  embarrassing moments. You just learn to laugh about them. 

10. If your avatar had a mind of its own, what do you think it would say to you? Be happy. SL is supposed to be fun!

Why Do I Blog Meme

So it's time for another look into the fascinating world of Kismet. I know you are all super excited! :D This time I decided to do Berry's Why Do I Blog Meme. I admit I really haven't had the chance to read many of the other participant's answers but I'm sure mine aren't much different from everyone else's. Plus, it gives me an excuse to talk and the memes are fun so if you wanna do it too, check out Berry's blog. Now onto the questions!

1. How long have you been blogging? Since December 2010

2. Why did you start blogging? I was bored with my SL. My partner at the time basically deserted me on there and due to being partnered, I had cut myself off from most of my friends so I figured blogging would give me something to do. Plus, I enjoyed hunting down freebies and shopping so I thought this way I'd have something to show for it. 

3. How many times a week do you post an entry? Hmm, I'd have to say around 3-4x a week. If I'm blogging for a bunch of events, it might be more and if I'm going through personal stuff, it might be less. 

4. How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis? I read quite a few faves of mine on my bloglist but for the most part, I just skim the feeds until something catches my eye and then I read the post there.

5. Do you comment on other people’s blogs? Yes, I do from time to time but sometimes I get frustrated doing so because I feel like no one comments on mine.

6. Do you keep track of how many visitors you have? Yes, because I'm a nosy bitch and I want to make sure people are actually looking at my pictures. I do have my settings fixed so that I don't keep track of my own views though because I think that is false traffic.    

7. Did you ever regret a post that you wrote? Nope, not in the writing sense. Sometimes I look at my pictures though and think, "Ugh, what was I thinking?"

8. Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog? Yes, I try to portray my personality in every blog post. I'm me....I'm very random and I think it shows in my style. It's never the same. 

9. Do you blog under your real name? Nope, I blog under my second life name. I like my privacy. 

10. Are there topics that you would never blog about? Hmm, I don't blog about topics really. My blog is just a review of what I'm wearing or about a location I found. Sometimes I skim over a bit of personal stuff but for the most part, fashion is my only topic. I think I'll keep it that way. I prefer things light. 

11. What is the theme/topic of your blog? Fashion in Second Life with a tad of exploration and freebies thrown in for good measure. I also like to help new bloggers so I have a few tips on other pages as well. 

12. Do you have more than one blog? If so, why? I have an erotic tumblr. I like porn! Sorry! Plus, I sometimes write erotic short stories and I place them on there. It's not really a blog but it's close enough.  

13. What have you found to be the benefits of blogging? Free stuff! Just kidding! I believe that the number one benefit to my blogging is social interaction and making new friends. I'm kind of reclusive but through blogging, I've met some wonderful people like my bestie, Kimbra and other friends like Lili and Christa. Plus, it taught me that designers are just people too and I've met some awesome ones like Gem and Nikki. 

14.  So, why do you continue to blog? It's therapeutic for me. I get stressed a lot with my RL and blogging allows me to float away to a relaxing world. Plus, playing pixel dressup makes me happy.

My 10 SL Firsts Meme

Yep! Another meme allowing you a peek at some first that took place in my SL. This meme was set forth by Berry. She thinks of awesome memes. I am sorry I can't remember some of the early details of my SL. I blame it on my jump right into the SL sex industry and the fact that those moments weren't special to me.

While answering my questions, I figured I'd show off this adorable pose prop by What Next that is available at Pose Fair. Pose Fair ends on the 14th so make sure to buy all poses!!

First SL Friend: Sally Courtois...I met her at a noob clothing spot and she took pity on me and showed me a few must needed tips plus introduced me to some friends.

First SL Kiss: I really don't remember. I've kissed a lot of guys on SL. Some were special, some not so much!

First SLex time: Same. I used to escort on here so yeah....

First SL Partner/Girl Friend/Boyfriend/Wife/Husband: Smfro Dragover...dude was as shady as shady comes and actually was cheating on me with my best friend at the same time as he was partnered to me

First SL Job: Stripper at Platinum Club

First SL Creation: Umm, do gestures count? I know they are annoying but I used to make them for various clubs I worked at.

First Encounter with a Linden: I've never talked to a linden. I've seen them from far away on some sims I go to but yeah, I am not a fangirl.

First Encounter with a SLebrity: There is no such thing....Everyone is equal on here in my opinion.

First SL sim you fell in love with: The Far Away and I still go there whenever I'm feeling down. I like sitting on the train and people watching.
