A Light Exists In Spring

Let It Go

Hey all! I'm back from my RL vacation and mini blogging vacation. I hope you've missed me. I decided to change my priorities in SL a little and just have fun so blogging took a back burner for awhile but I'm back. You see, I was getting caught up in the game and taking things too seriously. I trusted people over the past year whom I now know I shouldn't have trusted and was hurt numerous times by people I considered to be my best friends inworld. I've made the choice to become selfish and only do things for myself in the future. It's sad that I have to change who I am in order to mentally survive in a virtual world but sometimes I guess change is for the good so here is to hoping. When I first joined SL, I was looking for a place to escape the seriousness of my RL but over the past year, SL has brought me more drama and grief than RL ever brings me. I don't want negativity online and yes, I know that I am responsible for some of it but it's not who I am or who I ever want to be. I feel sorry for those who let it consume them and eat away at their hearts and hope someday they can get to this very place where I am at. Since it's the start of a new year, I'm using this time to let it go and forget about the past. I hope you all use this time to do something that makes you happy and brightens up your life as well.

Now onto blogging stuff! Once again, I've decided to enter The Arcade photo contest. I love gachas and the thrill of attaining that precious rare you must have plus the warm feeling in my heart when I surprise my friends with a little gift that I've picked up from them so of course, The Arcade is my favorite SL event. I love how whimsical the designers get with their creations each round and always wind up picking up more than I need. The last few rounds I've realized that I could use my stuff to make pictures and enter the contest dreaming of winning so that's what I did. When Dead Dollz released this breathtakingly beautiful Frozen inspired dress at their store, I decided I wanted to do a snow fairy look with all my Arcade goodies so voila this is the picture.

Finally, my location today is at the Louisiana SIM and I'd like to thank Zaidee Frost for allowing me to come rez all my stuffs and terrorize her land. Zaidee designed this beautiful winter SIM for a winter charity ball that went off this weekend raising 23K in lindens for an AIDS foundation. The SIM is fabulous and rez is on so you can rez fun little props to take pictures if you promise to clean up after yourself. You should definitely check it out as it's open until January 5th and while you're there, be sure to donate a little money to the cause at one of the many donation boxes that decorate the SIM.

I Got This Feeling On a Summer Day

Hey all! Just a quick LOTD with some awesomeness I've picked up around the grid. Olive has out a new gacha with adorable alien antennae headbands and the Atelier Kreslo Ice Cream Festival is going on until the 30th with fun ice cream cones created by various designers for sale so if you're looking for some cutesy accessories, check out both these places.

Also, check out this charming little outfit I picked up at The Dressing Room Fusion by Fishy Strawberry. It's a steal at under 150 lindens so hurry over and snap it up. The top comes in two different colors but I liked this one better because it went perfectly with these ballerina flats Sweet Leonard has out for free for the Seasons Palette Hunt. Although you can't see them clearly in my pics, these babies have a silver crown in them that screams out to the princess in you.

Under Attack

While out exploring yesterday, I came across this gorgeous deserted beach. It was so pristine and the sound of the waves crashing against the shoreline made me think that this could be the perfect hideaway for some calm and peaceful moments this summer. Although the sun was starting to hide behind some puffy clouds, I was feeling a little hot so I decided to dip my feet into the cool surf. I closed my eyes for a second enjoying the serenity of this secret spot when all of a sudden, I felt a jolt of pain shoot up my body. I glanced down to see I was being attacked by a horde of angry crabs! While bending over to free my captured toes from their hungry grasp, more of these little suckers pinched their angry claws onto me. Ahh! The pain was so bad but I managed to shake myself free and move along.

With my fingers and toes still throbbing, I started to wander down the beach when I heard the hostile screech of some seagulls. I turned around to find I was being ganged up on by a flock of vicious birds. Running as fast as I could, I tried to get away from them before they decided to peck my eyes out. Finally realizing that perhaps there was a reason this beach was empty but for the local wildlife, my dream of tranquility was quickly diminished. I guess it's the city life for me from now on!

Beachcombing

Hey all! OMG! I am super excited! You see, it's like this. When I saw the cutesy ur favorite one overalls at this round of Collabor88, I got this idea to do a beachcombing blog post complete with a bucket full of shells. I thought it would be a totally adorable idea to do as a blog post but I was super emo sad to see that there were no beachcomber pose props around so I started begging people to do a custom job for me. Lucky for me, Nikki Wildmist of Demise of Flight thought the idea sounded fun and whipped them up for me super quick. When I saw the completed project, I was soooo happy because they are just what I pictured in my head and she added a color hud for the pail plus she included a bonus pail that moves with your AO. I couldn't have asked for anything else with this little set so I just had to run right out and take the pic I've been dreaming of. If you want to do your own beachcomber post, be sure to run to Demise of Flight and pick these adorable little pose props up! I love her so much for making them for me that I just had to partner her for a few days. *Giggles*

Rainbow Fantasy: A Fantasy Faire Sneak Peek

Fantasy Faire 2013 kicks off April 20th and I've got a sneak peek at some awesome items you can pick up at this event. Raising money for RFL and the American Cancer Society, this faire features a variety of different fantasy themed events with everything from exclusive shopping finds to live music shows.

Since shopping is one of my favorite things to do on SL, let's focus on that for now. Every girl dreams of being a princess at least once in their life and what better place to pretend to be one then on SL. If you're a huge fan of colors like me, you'll absolutely love FallnAngel Creations flowy and whimsical gown with a scripted rainbow changing sash. This item is one of their many exclusives so be sure to check them out on the Crimson Fields sim when they open.

Also, check out my fun pose prop. It's another Fantasy Faire exclusive by Musa. These flimsy scarfs add just a little bit of mystery to my princess look and I love the movement of them so much. Be sure to stop by Musa's booth too. It's located on the Magnificat sim.

The Real Me Is Definitely Unperfect Meme

I kind of like doing memes. Especially when they let us take a peek into the lives of SL residents we never talk to. It's nice to get to know people without actually umm...getting to know them, I guess! Since I like doing memes, I decided to do Rose's meme. It's an easier one with a bunch of questions and no set guidelines for your pic. This suits me perfectly because I'm so bad at putting together a specific look for a picture on a deadline. Those of you who are close to me know me as Kis...the totally random and silly, super loyal kick ass bestie who wears her heart on her sleeve and never holds back her opinion and those of you who aren't close to me, I hope this helps you get to know me. Since I'm always up for some fun on SL, I decided to use a fun image I took of myself with this adorable monkey bar set that fri.day has out for Pose Fair. Now on with the questions!

1. What is the thing you fear most in the world above dying (that is if you fear death)? Disappointing my child as her parent. I don't want her to hate me or have ill feelings towards me when she's older because her father isn't in her life.

2. When’s the last time you sat down and contemplated where your life was going, and what did you concluded from that? I do this daily and I concluded that my life isn't going in the direction I had hoped so I enrolled back in school and am trying to better myself little by little.

3. If you could give any one person in the world a wish, a wish you knew you could grant, what would it be, and why would you give it to them? I'd take cerebral palsy away from my brother and let him live a normal life. I don't think anyone should have to struggle with handicaps or illnesses and since he's the person I love most who is struggling with something like that right now, I choose him.

4. Cat, dog, rabbit, horse, chicken, dolphin? There are so many animals in the world, if you could be one, and had to think, act, be like one, with out human thoughts, emotions, perception of the world, which would you be, and why? Hmm, tough question. I'd say an Eagle. I'd love to be able to fly anywhere I please.

5. Today is the last day you’ll ever see your family. Some you may love, some you may hate, other you may not have any emotional attachment to. What would you do? Spend it with them doing what makes me happiest and just savoring the small stuff. I'd probably cry a lot though.

6. Given the chance to travel to one country -ONLY – in your whole life, other than the one you’ve grown up in, or have found yourself living in (pretend you’ve gone to no other country in the world other than the one you now call home) where would it be? Why, and for how long? Seriously!!! Just one?!!! I need to visit a lot of places! Ah, if I had to choose one though, it'd have to be Costa Rica. Everyone who has gone there has told me it's really beautiful and I love nature. I'd love to go cave tubing and ziplining and just roam the rainforest taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. I think I deserve a few months of relaxation! 

7. Quick you have to pick 5 things to take with you as you are rushing out of the house- you don’t know what’s happening, where you’re going, whom is taking you where, or why, but you do know you can carry about 5 things, in the small bag you’ve given to take with you. What do you choose? A photo album from when I had my daughter and she was a baby, her two favorite stuffed animals, her favorite blanket, and my laptop. I'd take her things because I couldn't bear to have her upset and my stuff besides personal mementos is replaceable.

8. You’re sitting in a dream, you can tell you’re dreaming, but you’re not awake enough to move. What do you see? Is anyone there? (be creative, make something up, or recall a dream you had before) I see my future. I'm happy and with someone who makes me feel content. We are sitting in our beautiful backyard on a summer night watching our kids play as the fireflies twinkle. I feel at ease and know that everyone I love is near and that they are happy too.

9. What color do you think you are? Hmm, teal. Something bright but with a little darkness to it. I am genuinely a happy person but sometimes late at night, I have moments of sadness.

10. If when it came to blogging, if you blog, no one say your blogs, no one commented, no one noticed, no one cared, at all, would you keep blogging? Yes, because for the most part, I don't think anyone reads my blog anyways. I know my close friends do and I love them for that but I don't think anyone else does unless I'm blogging freebies. I blog because it's therapeutic to me and gives me a purpose for being on SL. Plus, I love to play dress up on here. It's way easier to look good on SL than it is in RL.

New Romance

Spring is here and Collabor88 has a new round with a theme of "New Romance" that goes perfectly with the season. This round features lots of lace and pretty pastels. As soon as I saw Tee*fy's offerings for this round, I knew I'd have to nab them. This pretty tank and floral skirt are their offering for this event. I paired it with this pretty D!va hair that features customizable flowers and a headband. Since I wanted a super springlike look, I went to Izzie's and took my pics on her pretty sim. As you can see, Spring is in the air and it's the perfect time for a picnic so won't you join me.

Beach Comber

Drift never ceases to make me happy. I love the designer's usage of colors in all of her releases. As soon as I saw this pretty sundress on Flickr in one of my favorite color combinations, I just knew I'd be going over and picking it up. It's called the Flirtini dress and comes with a HUD that includes 10 different wear options. I loved the beachy tones of this knit number so much that I snapped up this pack which includes pastel stripes, diamond, and crisscross patterns. If you're a fan of brighter colors or solids, there are also packs for you so be sure to drift on over to this store and pick this summery frock up.

Scoping the feeds, I noticed a lot of pretty pictures coming from Kaelyn Alecto's newly opened sim, It All Starts With A Smile, so I had to go explore it for myself and I gotta say that it's just as gorgeous in person as it is in pictures.
